On Brant's recommendation I purchased a set of Chamber Mate sub gauge reducers from Seminole Gun Works. They convert 12ga to 20ga, 28ga & 410. I was skeptical at first as to whether a 3" long piece of stainless could give the results of the full length sets. Well I am here to say that they work as advertised. The shotgun forum community said they would despite what you might think about the wad bouncing down the 12ga barrel without support. All I know is the targets break when I shoot with them. Now for the bad side - your barrels get really dirty because the wad doesn't scrap away the residue as it leaves the barrel. Lot's of powder residue. They are very picky about the brand of shell you use. AA & Remington Target are the only ones that don't get stuck in the ejectors. The cool thing is they are universal & fit any brand of O/U so I can shoot 28ga while my buddy borrows my 20ga set & shoots at the same time. They come with O-rings that help keep them snug in the breach. I personally like the 28ga the most. Now if I could only afford to buy 28ga ammo ! Ask me about them next time we meet and I'll let you shoot with them if you want - you might like them.
